Gatka with Himmat Singh

Ik Ongkar Siri Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sri Bhagauti Ji Sahai!
“By the Victory of the Original Creator of The Creation! And by the Protection of the Great Power Contained in the Sword!”

Himmat SInghOh devoted and meditative beings, come plant your feet on the ground and learn the way of the sword! As spiritual beings, we have come to this world for a human experience. We have been blessed within the Shabad Guru and the divine sound current, which brings us to bliss and contentment. This devotion, or Bhakti, is balanced by the power, or Shakti, found in the sword. Miri and Piri, the twin swords of the Adi Shakti, are the protectors of the two realms of spirituality and temporality.

Himmat Singh was raised by a family of Sikh Kundalini yogis at the Guru Ram Das Ashram, in Toronto, Ontario. For six years, he studied at Miri Piri Academy, an American boarding school in India dedicated to providing the foundation of Kundalini Yoga and Sikh lifestyle to children. At Miri Piri, he was a part of the Gatka Squad for all 6 years of his attendance, concluding as the head of weapon caretakers. He now teaches Gatka regularly at the Everett Gurudwara. Himmat Singh is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education from Lesley University. He has been very involved in the Kundalini Yoga community since his arrival in the Boston area regularly participating at the Guru Ram Das Ashram in Millis, assisting Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training in New Hampshire and teaching at Kundalini Yoga Boston. His classes explore our perceived limitations what can be found beyond them.
